Autistic people know how difficult the world can be. Everywhere we go, we face barriers. Systems designed for neurotypical people, by neurotypical people, don’t take us into account. At best, we struggle to access the help and services other people take for granted. At worst, we are actively excluded. Autistic people have some of the worst mental health, employment levels and life expectancies of any demographic.
In 2022, a small group of Autistic people, with many years of feeling let down by schools, universities, the NHS, and government, came together to find a way to make things better. We soon realised it wasn’t good enough to simply look for ways to navigate this neurotypical world. We would have to do everything we could to make it more neuro-affirmative.
But we also realised we couldn’t do it alone. Our neurotypical allies, charity administrators, accountants, web developers, university academics, human resource experts, and a practising clinical psychologist with more than a decade’s experience helping Autistic people thrive, worked with us to create something exciting and new.
Knowing we could make a difference, we built a company designed to co-create and co-deliver the training, resources and consultancy we needed to see. From the start, our focus was on a genuine commitment to putting a broad spectrum of lived experience at the core of our offering. Our team thrives because of the variety of Autistic and neurodivergent experiences we embody.
